Babbel - Language Learning App Reviews

Great practice!

I like this program but the only problem is that I do not have someone to converse in French. I still think it is a good way to memorize and learn every day expressions. As I move further into the lessons I have noticed that it is very important to make notes and repeat them until these words are instilled your mind. I have studied French before and I find it easier to understand the explanations, but to those who have never taken French I would recommend that they study grammar online or buy book.

Subscription required? No....

Im happy to pay for a module to learn at my own pace, but I shant be rushed into learning because of a monthly subscription just to please accountants.

Best language learning service

I tried a trail of Rosetta Stone and babbel.com and ended up picking babbel. The interface is very aesthetically pleasing for starters. Im using the service to learn Spanish and Im happy to hear the audio in both Spanish and Latin American pronunciation. The grammar lessons were very intuitive and slowly progress. The examples in each lesson are always useful for every day situations so that is a big deal as well.

Horrible

This app was horrible because it was confusing and you had to pay now thats a game I dont want to play

I dont understand the negative reviews!

This app is excellent and my in laws agree as well! There are so many exercises to help you memorize the courses/words as well as tongue twister exercises! I signed up for the 3 month subscription for $19.99 so if I have any issues with that then thats when I will change my rating and review! Until then, this app gets 5 stars from me bc not only is it excellent but I also get to use on all of my electronic devices!

Changes

When I originally downloaded this a few years ago it was completely free. One day I updated it and it cost money. Its really a shame they changed it. I switched to Duolingo with is great and always free.

Learn a Language

Awesome app for learning. More languages would be nice, but all in all its well done.

Me Encanta! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wonderful app for language learning. Id give it more stars if it were possible! Ive been trying to learn Spanish on my own for a few months now and felt like it was getting dull and repetitive, until I found this app. Lots of lessons to cover and very interactive! Great to use along with other language learning apps, classes, books, or great to use alone. Either way, I love it!

Umm??

What about Korean or Japanese or Chinese? :(

This is a horrible app

They make u pay for the courses and it said nothing about that when I got it and I just want to learn different languages so that is why is app stinks

Easy to use on subway

Put it on silent mode, download the lessons and you are good to go!

Worth Every Penny!

I am temporarily living in Belgium and while I dont need to learn French to live here I thought it would be nice to at least try to learn a bit. THIS APP IS AWESOME. I thought I would never be able to learn French until I downloaded this app. I use it in conjunction with an immersion listening program and I must say in five days I went from speaking and understanding zero French to being able to read and understand sentences. Je parle français!

Great, easy, doesnt feel like learning

I was on lesson 10 before I knew it and could actually speak Italiano

Acceptable app good method

I have used Duolingo and this is way better. First, they have useful sentences. Second, the voice recognition is way better. But, I have a hate-love relationship with Babbel. The app and the website have different features, for example, the review module works different in the web than in the app. Besides that, I have found different bugs in both the app and the web. Summary, good method, not great app. I have not seen anything better

Perfect

Go ahead and download it youll like it.

The best

I like it

Too frustrating early on

I have used other apps for language learning and practice while mobile and in the car. This is not as intuitive or has a flow that leads to memorization. Cannot use this for purely audio. Additionally, cannot replay audio items as often as needed. Do not find it intuitive nor a workable transition from subject to subject.

Why didnt you tell me it wasnt free?

Im a middle school student who is interested in learning French to support my school Spanish, and I downloaded this app to help with that. The app was free and I went through the first lesson excited about the easy, intuitive interface and the in depth explanations. Then I found out that to do any more lessons would cost me a lot of money! My parents arent willing to pay for it and now Im going to have to delete the app. Im very frustrated that nowhere in the app info does it clearly state that you have to pay to use this app.

Need more

So they have a nice variety of languages but half of those languages I can learn at my school I want to learn japenese and Swedish but even though Swedish is on list I want to learn japenese more so you guys need to spend out the languages a little more like Korean also. But otherwise the app awesome!

Good app!

I love this app. Is very funny
