Babbel - Language Learning App Reviews

Just a warning this app is not entirely free. They give you the first lesson of each language and course. Although this app is worth the cost. I am currently learning German faster than I have any other language, also just a tip, this app is great but you should use other apps as well to learn vocabulary faster and some more grammar.

I love Babbel for learning French. I actually know French pretty well but at times it still challenges me. Content is about contemporary topics and sometimes they work comic elements into content. If theyve added new content thats great. I only wish theyd improve their keyboard and that they would make it possible to back up and look at something you just saw without having to do a whole section over. PS: Its well worth paying for the extended lessons.

The app is pretty polished and well done in the content is good but the keyboard could use a bit of improving and the matter how hard I try I cant seem to get the microphone settings to pick up my voice correctly. sometimes it tells me Im wrong during exercises when Im saying it exactly like the voice on the app.

Love the app, but the latest update changes some things in Review that arent great: if you miss punctuation now - even a comma - you miss the item and have to re-review. Also, some items where previously you put words into the correct order are now completely blank and you have to type everything in. Some blanks require more than one word, and there is a lot of ambiguity. On the plus side, love that there is new content!

Im having a lot of fun learning Spanish. I planned on asking my son if he would like to use the app and he had already began using it on his device. Hes learning German! I will use this when teaching my students.

The information is designed to drill it into your brain and works great alongside other teaching methods

Great app, the only thing that I dislike that would give it a five star rating from me would be a German layout keyboard for fill in the blank exercises. It makes accents much easier and Im used to the German keyboard from multiple learning methods that Ive used. Please add!

I love this app. But, the changes to the review section are problematic. Sometimes you need periods, sometimes not . . . And the preceding "?"s, I dont have a way to type that, so I always get it wrong. And, the review process used to have you repeat the items you missed next time - I liked that. That made it easier to learn.

Its a great app but you have to play like 200 dollors!

Great app, I found it on the search engine tho because I was trying to learn a couple of phrases so I could communicate with a foreign student from Italy that I met & I am Mexican the language is a bit similar .. Fun app

I miss when almost everything was free

Its supposed to be free. Thats an outright lie.

Pros: teaches Spanish in a conversational way. Cons: doesnt have voice recognition to tell if youre pronouncing words correctly. It doesnt break down phrases enough. For example, I started with beginner but there are already two or three words in a box. Finally it doesnt see if you know how to spell the words in Spanish. All in all, its a good app but I like duolingo more. Since duolingo keeps crashing on me, it looks like Ill be using youre app in the meant time. If you were to fix all those cons, I would like the app much more.

It takes a ton of study for me to learn a language and I tried so many methods with little success. I even lived in another foreign speaking country for two years and managed to learn words but struggled with grammar. This is the first affordable forum I have found that is easy yet completely effective. Also, its really fun. Like playing a game on your phone.

Way better then my Spanish teacher

Why is there not Japanese!!! I am going to live in Japan and I need to learn Japanese! So for now all I can do is play with my neko and eat some itchigos! (Neko is cat and itchigo is strawberrys)

Very good app. The lessons are well done and constructed in a way that you always learn something new while revising what you already know. Also the large panel of lessons and languages, the fluidity of the app, the variety of vocabulary... I could go on. Definitely worth your money
